We hope you choose Liz Day Care Centre for your childcare. We are endeavoring to become a community focus point for local parents and assist you in your busy lives by giving you peace of mind that your child is in a safe happy and loving environment.
Your family will be part of our extended Liz Day Care Centre family, where we will listen to your feedback as we continually improve our services in line with the early years curriculum. We look forward to meeting you soon!
We organize events such as workshops, outings, Parents Evenings and the celebrations of Festivals .Parents are involved in planning and running these occasions and we work together as a team. The aim is for parents and visitors to get together, socialise, meet each other and share information and experiences. With this interaction between us, nursery and home life can compliment each other to ensure a good balance in learning and development for your child..
These events are intended as a time for reflecting on the aims of Liz Day Care Centre education, children’s development, learning, play, health and other issues.
They are fun and lively with parents and visitors not only listening but actively participating and contributing. They are interactive and informative with parents hopefully taking away something with them at the end.
If your child is on medication, we are happy to administer any prescription medication at nursery on the condition that your child appears well enough to attend. All medicines brought into the nursery must be handed to the Manager on Duty, a nursery medication form needs to be completed and your signature will be required to authorise its administration.
Any medication brought into the nursery must be in its original container and labelled with your child's full name, the dosage required and the date it was prescribed. Any medication that does not meet the criteria on the Medication Form and is not prescribed by a General Practitioner will not be administered.
We are able to administer long term medication such as an inhaler.
The nursery retains its own supply of temperature control medication (Calpol) and will admister this in the event that a child's temperature reaches 38C. Our staff are trained to find alternative ways to reduce your child's temperature, prior to administering temperature control medication. We can only admister this if we have prior signed authorisation from you to do so (this will be done upon registration) and you will be contacted via telephone prior to medication being given. We will only admister one dose; if your child's temperature does not reduce or rises again later in the day, you will be asked to collect them. We will not admister temperature control medication such as Calpol as a preventive medicine.
This also applies to allergy medication such as Piriton, which will only be administered in an emergency situation.
External medications such as Eczema creams or nappy creams can be applied with your written consent.
In all cases, if a child is deemed unwell, you will be asked to keep them at home until they are in general good health.
Please feel free to consult the nursery's Policies and procedures for more information or speak with the Nursery Manager.
At LIZ DAY CARE CENTRE equal opportunity and inclusion is at the heart of all that we do. We are actively committed to valuing and celebrating the diversity and inclusion of culture, race, ethnicity, religion, ability, gender, and family composition within our nursery and the wider community for children and employees.
We put equality and inclusion at the heart of what we do and we aim to foster a positive attitude and approach to equality and justice throughout everyday learning activities and experiences through:
- Resources
- Cultural and religious celebrations
- Supporting children for whom English is an additional language
- Challenging Bias and Discrimination
- Providing clear direction for staff and children from senior managers
- Developing and nurturing strong relationships with parents, families, and outside agencies
- Making adjustments to environments where is reasonably practicable to do so
- A nominated Special Education Needs Coordinator, who will attend appropriate training and be available to offer support and advice at the nursery.
We want you to be entirely satisfied with the service you receive from us. The nursery welcomes each child and family and we provide a warm and caring environment where all children can learn and develop as they play. Even the best organisations make mistakes, and if we do, or we fail to meet your expectations in some way, we want the opportunity to put things right as quickly as we can.
In addition, we will take steps, where appropriate, to prevent a recurrence.
Stage 1: If at any time a parent should have a cause for complaint/query, they should first speak with their child's key-person or Room Manager. They are able to provide an immediate solution without having to make a formal complaint.
Stage 2: If the issue remains unresolved and there was no satisfactory outcome, the Nursery Manager should be contacted. A letter containing complaints or concerns should be addressed to the Manager to investigate the matter and notify you of the outcome of the investigation.
Stage 3: If at stage 2 a satisfactory outcome has not been reached, then a formal meeting should be held between Management and parent to ensure the situation came to a resolution.
Stage 4: If the matter is still nor resolved to the parent's satisfaction, they have the right to contact Ofsted by calling 0300 123 1231 or write to:
